Peanut & Salted Caramel Oats
Why not add some hormone boosting Maca powder (a root from Peru), for a caramel spin. Maca is known as Peruvian ginseng and is not only full of important vitamins and minerals, it is known to boost libido, improve symptoms of menopause, can improve mood and may even increase exercise performance!
Next add some peanut butter and dates and you have yourself the ultimate salted peanut caramel bowl. I choose to make mine with a combination of water and milk, but you can easily replace the water component for your milk of choice for an extra creamy bowl.
This recipe makes two serves, so if you're just one, reserve the rest for tomorrow morning and simply add some more milk to loosen it before heating again.
Tired of boring porridge? This super easy combination is not only hormone balancing, but amazingly tasty and satisfying.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup porridge oats
2 cup water
1 cup plant based milk eg soy, oat, rice, almond
2 tsp maca powder
1 Tbsp peanut butter
1/4 tsp salt
4 large medjooldates
1/4 cup natural roasted peanuts
Directions:
In a large pot on the stove, place oats, water and milk. Gently heat.
While continuously stirring, add macca, peanut butter, salt and 2 chopped medjool dates.
After about 3-4 minutes, your oats should be creamy. Place in tow bowls and top with a sprinkle of peanuts and the remaining dates.
Feel free to add a drizzle of maple syrup if you have got a real sweet tooth, but I find the dates make it sweet enough. Add some extra plant milk if you want it super creamy.
