Natural Spider and Ant Repellant

POV: you move into a house with a spider problem but know spiders (and ants) hate peppermint oil so now your house smells like candy canes!

Say goodbye to spiders and ants with this simple DIY spray 🕷️🚫

If you’re anything like me, the thought of spiders and ants invading your cozy space is enough to make you want to crawl under the covers. But fear not! I’ve got a super simple, all-natural solution that will send those creepy crawlies packing without harming them.

Let’s talk about peppermint and citrus oils—yep, those little bottles of goodness can be your new best friends in the battle against unwanted pests! So, here’s the deal: spiders absolutely *hate* peppermint and citrus oils. I mean, who can blame them? These scents are invigorating and refreshing for us humans, but for our eight-legged friends? Not so much!

To whip up your very own spider and ant deterrent spray, you’ll just need a few simple ingredients. Shake them all up, and voilà—you’ve got yourself a powerful deterrent!

Now, just a quick heads up: this magical potion won’t *kill* those little critters - it’s more about keeping them out of your space. Spray it around entry points like doors and windows, and don’t forget those sneaky corners in bathrooms or bedrooms where they love to throw their little insect parties (seriously, who invited them?). If you want to make this even easier, you can even use a mop to treat your doors.

But before you go spraying with wild abandon, let’s talk about surfaces. If you’re using citrus oil in your mix, be careful where you spray it—stick to unvarnished surfaces because citrus oil can discolour or degrade paint.

And remember: for maximum effectiveness, give your spray a refresh every two weeks.

So here you have it—your ultimate guide to keeping spiders and ants at bay with just a few simple ingredients. Happy spraying! 🌿✨

tips

  • If using for ants, you can also just drop neat Peppermint in the middle of the ant trail to deter them fast.
