EMF is Classified as a Group 2B Possible Carcinogen in Humans

There’s disagreement in scientific literature over whether EMFs pose a danger to human health and, if so, how much. The current International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) evaluation pointed to a possible link between RF radiation and cancer in people, particularly glioma, a malignant type of brain cancer. PMID: 20483835

A recent study, researchers analysed data over almost 2 decades and found that people exposed to high levels of extremely low-level frequency magnetic fields over a long duration showed an increased risk of acute myeloid leukemia

Other possible links include:

  • childhood leukemia

  • neurological and psychiatric problems

  • neurological cognitive disorders

practical ways to minimise EMF at home

CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL

  • Turn your phone on airplane mode at night and keep it away from your bed stand, or better yet, keep it out of the bedroom

  • Position the head of your bed away from meter & electical boxes, especially if they're located on the same wall as the bedroom

  • Turn the WIFI router off at night (there are devices that will do this automatically for you)

  • Do not place your laptop on your lap to work or watch Netflix in bed!

  • Ditch ear pods and use airtubes instead

  • Avoid wearables such as wireless watches, wireless sleep monitors, wireless headsets and fitness type devices

  • Use your phone on speaker mode to talk and do not carry it in your pocket during the day

  • If you're using a baby monitor, position it as far away from the bassinet/cot as possible

  • Never stand in front of your microwave in use, or better yet, ditch it as a family

  • Unplug any devices not in use

  • Utilise shielding technology such as EMF blankets, grounding mats or harmonising devices if desired

the takeaway

There are so many unknowns when it comes to EMF, but from what we do know, there is enough evidence for concern.

You do NOT have to do everything listed, I don't!

BUT do what you can, start with turning WIFI off at night and keeping your phone away from your bed and then go from there! You got this!
